If you are in Porto, one of the districts that it is necessary absolutely visited is the one of Aliados, which is considered as the city center. You will find several key monuments but also restaurants.


Avenida Dos Aliados




The Avenida back Aliados, marked in the north summit by the city hall of Porto, by the magnificence of its architectural heritage, but also for its central character - it is also the address of the subway station of the same name. The Torre Dos Clérigos is a work of the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni and is one of the most symbolic monuments of the city. He was built between 1754 and 1763 and be a part of the church of the clergy. He has six floors, 75 meters high, which are accessible by a spiral staircase of 240 walking.

Livraria Lello



This bookshop is so considered as one of the most beautiful to the world. It thus became one of the major tourist places of Porto. The inside of the Livraria Lello is really magnificent. It is for nothing that we nickname it also sometimes the " cathedral of books "! A big window in the ceiling summit of colored glazings, plasters imitation wood, sculptured pillars. But especially this massive staircase in the middle of the room, in double- orientation, so harming 2 sides of the floor.


The British author of novels Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling, taught English during 2 years to the university of Porto.
