The Bolhão Market

You cannot visit Porto without going to the Bolhão Market. This lovely market place is where farmers came to sell their fruit and vegetables. Nowadays you also find butchers and the inevitable souvenir shops.

The Bolhão Market is the most famous in the city and in 2006 it was classified as a place of public interest. Dating back to 1850, with a singular structure with two floors, it is characterised by the monumentality of its neoclassic architecture.
